Edmund Jennings Randolph, first Attorney General of the United States, was raised a Master Mason this day in 1774 in Williamsburg (Virginia) Lodge No. 6.

During his life he also served as seventh governor of Virginia, second U.S. Secretary of State, and from 1786–88 was Grand Master of Masons of Virginia.
