A view few people are lucky enough to see - This picture was taken from the Worshipful Master's chair at Weymouth Masonic Hall. John Pearce, Secretary of All Souls tells us....
"The Lodge was redecorated in 1967 in preparation for the Bi-Centenary Celebrations. The Floor in the Temple was originally of linoleum with the present pattern painted on it. By 1967 the pattern on the linoleum had been worn away except for the area under the Tracing Board, The Pedestal and Officers’ Chairs. Three Brethren, Peter Hutchins, Ron Piggott and Raymond Hill, the Borough Architect, took up the Linoleum, laid hardboard over the floorboards, on which Raymond Hill drew the pattern from the linoleum on the hardboard. The three brethren then re-laid the pattern in plastic flooring film by cutting out each piece and fixing it with adhesive to the hardboard. This took two months of painstaking work..."
